First and Second Topic

BLOGGING

This will be my first journal about the two topics which I learned in the class which is ESP 6013 INTERNET TECHNOLOGIES FOR LANGUAGE.

First and foremost I got to know about Blogging which have three types which is teacher, class and learner. Basically it is about what is blogging and why should we blog. During this class I learned about the importance of the blogging which are it could be an extra reading or online leaner journal in different types of genre. Blogging can help encourage students who are very shy or keep to themselves. It could also help them to share everything they want through blogging to the society. 

Besides that, maintaining a blog is also important because the blog can die and at that time teacher acts as the facilitator to encourage the students to update and post in their blog. A blog also can help a class of students to be updated with notes and assignments as technologies are very updated.

Let me share a story here, once I saw my 3 years old niece took my smartphone and went to YouTube to watch a cartoon by herself without asking anyone's help. I told my sister that " when I was in her age I was playing with toys but she's using my phone and she is very smart". From here I could say that technology is very fast and forward. We could use it to many purposes blogging, studies, videos and so many.

From here I could conclude that blogging is important for a student as it could help them in many ways whether it is about themselves or studies.

INTRODUCTION TO CALL 

Before I start talking about this topic let me share a story which I went through during Diploma in TESL. I learned call during my diploma time as I had to create a power point using CALL. It was hard because I wasn't sure what is call and how to do it but i managed it with my lecturer's guidance. so when I saw my lecturer introduced this topic that was the first thing entered my brain "oh my God it is CALL again". 

Call means Computer Assisted Language Learning which use of technology in more things that internet can provide and a second language used in teaching and learning. 

CALL PROGRAM

• Specific software which is applications and programs which are specially designed for teaching and learning purpose.

• Generic software which is Microsoft such as excel, word and etc.

• Web- based Learning software such as wikipedia, blogs and etc

                                            

• Computer Mediated Communication (CMC) means online communication have two types synchronous and asynchronous.

Synchronous - Instant reply such as Whats App.

Asynchronous - Delay reply such as Email.

As a conclusion, the era of technology have developed and playing a major role in our daily life such as computer, internet and others. It is more important for us to know the importance and try to differentiate the differences as it could effect our life in a good or bad way. A computer can be a tutor, tool, medium and many more, we have to know the purpose and the use of the computer.
